Ambassador Roles & Responsibilities
Diplomatic Representation
- Represent AYP at international conferences and forums
- Deliver speeches and presentations on youth issues
- Meet with government officials and diplomats
- Participate in high-level policy discussions
Policy Advocacy
- Research and draft policy recommendations
- Advocate for youth-centered policies
- Submit policy briefs to governments and international bodies
- Monitor and report on policy implementation
Partnership Building
- Identify and engage potential partner organizations
- Negotiate partnership agreements and MOUs
- Coordinate joint initiatives and programs
- Maintain relationships with international stakeholders
Reporting & Documentation
- Document mission activities and outcomes
- Prepare detailed mission reports
- Track and report on key metrics and impact
- Share insights and learnings with the network
Communications
- Engage with media and press
- Represent AYP on social media platforms
- Create content highlighting youth issues
- Respond to inquiries and requests for information
Network Support
- Mentor new and junior ambassadors
- Contribute to ambassador training programs
- Participate in network meetings and coordination
- Support other ambassadors’ missions and initiatives
What We Look For in Ambassadors
✓ Passion for Afghan Youth
Genuine commitment to advancing youth rights, opportunities, and development in Afghanistan.
✓ Strong Communication
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of Dari/Pashto is a plus.
✓ Leadership Experience
Demonstrated leadership in community organizing, youth movements, activism, or similar areas.
✓ Time Commitment
Ability to dedicate 10-20 hours per month to ambassador activities, meetings, and missions.
✓ Cultural Awareness
Understanding of Afghan culture, history, and current situation. Ability to represent diverse perspectives.
✓ Professional Skills
Research, writing, public speaking, networking, and project management abilities.
