Suggest a Research Topic

Which question about Afghanistan or young Afghans has gone unanswered? Your suggestion is reviewed at the quarterly research planning meeting.

How suggestions are selected

  1. Every suggestion is logged in the research programme’s proposals list.
  2. Each quarter the Centre Director and unit leads score proposals on four criteria: importance to young people, availability of data, absence of similar research, and our researchers’ capacity.
  3. Selected proposals are added to the research programme and published on the Think Tank page with the status “planned”.
  4. If you wish, you are invited to that project as a collaborator or source.

A good question is small and clear. “Afghanistan’s economy” is a topic; “Why do young women in Herat give up home businesses after the first year?” is a research question.
