A research programme, not a political plan
Future Afghanistan Vision (named in Article XII of the Charter; earlier presented as the “Future Afghanistan Policy Framework”) is a long-term research programme of the Think Tank Center. It uses scientific foresight to build scenarios on youth, the economy, the environment and regional connectivity, and turns the Center’s evidence into practical options for young people, communities and partners. It is not a political plan. The Center conducts non-partisan academic research and strategic foresight. It does not campaign, endorse or oppose any political actor. No paper has been published yet.
Research themes
1. Youth livelihoods and skills
Jobs, skills, small business and digital work for young people.
2. Education pathways
From school to university: scholarships, study abroad and recognition of documents.
3. Diaspora and host communities
Young Afghans abroad, their skills, and their ties with host cities and with home.
4. Health, wellbeing and community resilience
Physical and mental health, wellbeing, and how communities support each other.
5. Climate, water and local livelihoods
Water, a changing climate and the local livelihoods that depend on them.
6. Governance, institutions and strategic foresight (academic, non-partisan)
Comparative studies of public institutions and service delivery, governance and public-policy research methods, and scenario-based foresight.
Cross-cutting
Youth-voice data and gender in every theme: what young women and young men say, reported side by side.

Scenarios, not predictions
Several plausible futures are compared; none is presented as a plan or a forecast.
Listening to young people
Survey results and online youth workshops. Sessions with participants inside Afghanistan are not recorded.
One review standard
Each output is reviewed by two reviewers who are not its authors, at least one of them external.
